Stock can arrive up to 1.5 in wider than nominal, so only the origin-side
edge is certain. A cut-off with a head-locked overcut cuts past the nominal
far edge with the head height locked, covering the oversize. With that lock,
Plan Cutting may start the far-edge segment at the far edge: overcut outward,
rapid back still locked, unlock, cut toward the origin. Without it the
direction stays fixed, as decided in Project Memory a20ea455.
- CutOff.HeadLockOvercut / FarEdgeFirst, persisted in .nest; HEAD HEIGHT
LOCK/UNLOCK comment markers; far edge is quadrant-aware.
- Planner offers the reversed far-edge segment in the joint search, the
safest route and segment insertion; Apply records the direction.
- Cincinnati CL and CI Fiber posts gain lock/unlock code settings and refuse
head-locked cut-offs while either is empty.
- Automatic cut-off dialog setting (off by default, 1.5 in), kept between
sessions and used for new cut-offs.
Lock codes and machine behaviour with the head locked are unconfirmed.

With the pre-post risks acknowledged, an unplanned blank reached the
Cincinnati and engraver posts, which created the output file before
refusing: an existing program at that path was emptied and the desktop
had no handler for the refusal. Both posts now check every part before
creating the file, and Post shows the refusal like the multi-file path.
A display tail marker is now honoured only as one marker ending the
part's own program, followed by a rapid and the outline alone. A marker
inside a sub-program or followed by real cuts is refused by posts and by
executed reads, so cuts after it can never be dropped from both
verification and output.
The posts treat every non-lead feed move as a cut, so an applied blank's
display tail, or the outline of a blank posted without a plan, would have
been cut along the blank's edge. The pre-post review counted that outline
as an ordinary cutting contour.
Cincinnati, CI Fiber and the engraver now read part programs through
DisplayPerimeterTail.ForPosting: an applied program posts exactly what the
same program posts with its tail removed by hand, and an unplanned display
perimeter is refused with a message that names the part and points to Plan
Cutting. The pre-post review reports the unplanned outline by name.
Steel is "Carbon Steel" in OpenNest, matching the Cincinnati post's cut
libraries. The CI Fiber material-code table only listed "Mild Steel", so a
Carbon Steel nest reached MSN only by falling through to the default code.
List "Carbon Steel" explicitly in the shipped JSON and the built-in
default, and keep "Mild Steel" for nests that already use it.
Tests check both names against the shipped config and the built-in
default; the Carbon Steel rows failed before this change. Posted output
is unchanged, since the default code was already MSN.
The pallet-change setting and post doc said M50 moves the cut sheet out,
borrowed from the CL-series manual. Cincinnati's CNC Codes Handbook calls
M50 "Table In" and M51 "Table Out". On the CI Fiber shuttle, Table In brings
the waiting pallet into the laser, which sends the cut one out, so M50 is
still the swap. Say that, note that it expects the waiting pallet to be
loaded, and note that newer Cincinnati samples end without a pallet code.
Default (M50) and posted output are unchanged.
The Cincinnati sample used by the CI Fiber tests is a customer production
part. Its geometry and NC were never tracked, but comments named its part
number and fixture file names and quoted its date and a pierce coordinate.
Replace them with generic wording and placeholder values; the fixture stays
outside the repository, configured only in the gitignored test-config.json.
Comment-only change.
The CI Fiber post selected G42 for every perimeter. Cincinnati's CNC Codes
Handbook defines G42 as "product remains on the left", and imported
perimeters run clockwise with the part on the right, so the controller
offset every outside edge into the part: parts came out a kerf undersize.
Cincinnati's LaserNST samples only use G42 because they cut perimeters
counter-clockwise.
Winding is normalized only at DXF import, so the post can't assume a
direction either. It now takes the largest contour as the perimeter (as
ShapeProfile does) and picks G41 or G42 from each contour's actual winding.
That also stops a reversed drawing from swapping the L2/L4 lead-in macros.

b0997f6 moved every cut-off after the parts. Plate.Parts order is the
cut sequence, and the user sets each cut-off's place in it (Set
Sequence), so the post must follow it rather than reorder. Cut-offs
still post as uncompensated open lines with no lead-in.
The machine owner confirmed M50 swaps pallets (the sample's M50 before
M30 moves the cut sheet out for unloading). Only the single-program
between-sheet sequence remains unconfirmed.
Multi-sheet nests previously went into one program with a single header
size and one M50 at the end, so sheet 2 would cut into sheet 1's
skeleton. New Sheets settings:
- One program per sheet (default on): JOB.cnc -> JOB-1.cnc, JOB-2.cnc,
each a full program with its own size and pallet change (CL-series
batch rule, EM-423 7.4). Single-sheet nests keep the chosen name.
- Off: one program, with /L "L0" + pallet change between sheets;
mixed sheet sizes are rejected.
- Pallet change code (default M50, unconfirmed for multi-sheet CI Fiber
runs; documented as a release blocker).
All sheets are validated and rendered before any file is written.
IMultiFilePostProcessor lets the desktop app confirm overwrites of every
target file and list what was saved, and the console print each file.
A fixed override wrote the same text on every part, making parts
indistinguishable in the program. Each part's ( PART:... ) comment now
always uses its source file or drawing name. Saved configs that still
contain PartComment load normally; the key is ignored.
System.Text.Json rebuilds MaterialCodes with the default ordinal comparer,
so a saved config matched 'Mild Steel' but not 'mild steel' and silently
fell back to the default code. The setter now re-keys assigned maps
case-insensitively.
Replace the generic PropertyGrid for configs that opt in via
PostSettingAttribute: a section list (Machine, Material, Program output,
Macros) with labelled fields, help text, numeric ranges and an editable
material-code table. Edits apply only when OK validates every field.
Unannotated configs (Cincinnati CL, GravographIS) keep the PropertyGrid.
Posting a nest with a sheet cut-off threw because the CI Fiber writer
treated every contour as a compensated part contour and requires a
linear lead-in after G41/G42 (TF5200 13.2.4.1). Cut-offs are open
centreline cuts with no lead-in and no inside/outside, so they now post
without G41/G42 and run after every part on the sheet so the sheet is
not severed before the parts are cut (matching the CL post).

New post-processor plugin OpenNest.Posts.CincinnatiCIFiber for the CI
Fiber laser family (nLight CLX / Beckhoff TF5200 / Precitec ProCutter,
e.g. the CI Fiber 4020 8kW). Named by machine family, not table size.
Emits the machine program contract of the Cincinnati-supplied sample NC
(12992-4SS_NEST.nc): V.E.* header, restart jump, per-part V.E.R4 blocks,
per-contour N labels with V.E.R3, skippable /L macro lines (L0/L2+G41
interior, L4+G42 exterior, L6 cut-on, ZHSOFF cut-end), G162 incremental
arc I/J, trimmed 3-decimal spaceless coordinates, CRLF, M50/M30/%.
Contour classification (interior vs exterior) derives from the material
side of the closed cut path, not hardcoded winding. SubProgramCall holes
are flattened to sheet coordinates (rotation-safe). Arc lead-ins are
rejected per TF5200 13.2.4.1 (first motion block after G41/G42 selection
must be linear). Table envelope (default 160.25 x 81.25 in) validated.
Tests: structure golden on a square-with-hole nest, rotated-hole flatten,
coordinate format, arc-lead-in rejection, table validation, suppressed/
scribe skipping, plus a SkippableFact regression against the real sample
NC (109 parts, 2071 contours, L2=1962, L4=109, perimeter vertices match
within 0.001). Fixtures configure through OpenNest.Tests/test-config.json
and the regression skips when absent.
