ajandClaude Opus 5.5 b1a03c1796 feat(engine): solve rectangular cutouts as a knapsack of boxes
Search insert selections as boxes with a counted beam search over maximal
free rectangles, pair low-density parts with their half turn, then gap-fill
with the frontier packer. The router takes it on seated outline area.

ajandClaude Opus 5.5 62e5410cdb fix(cutouts): maximize material seated in cutouts, not copies
Compare cutout proposals, frame angles and bundles by insert outline area,
and add bounded largest-first packer candidates so big parts get the first
move in an empty hole. On the real job the four frames go from 54-70% to
77-81% filled.

ajandClaude Opus 5.5 e231e44f72 refactor(geometry): share box containment, union, rotation and cutout range checks
Private copies of tolerant box containment, box union, vector rotation and
the cutout proposals' coordinate-range check now use one helper each:
BoundingBox.IsWithin and BoundingBox.Union, Vector.Rotate, and
CutoutCoordinates.WithinRange. Tests pin the helpers bit-for-bit against
frozen copies of the removed bodies. No behavior change.

ajandClaude Opus 5.5 4d55e11318 style: use one spelling across the codebase
The repo mixed variants such as center/centre and color/colour, so a
name could be spelled either way and searches missed half the hits.
Standardize on the US spelling, matching .NET's own APIs (Color, Center).

Wire values owned by other systems keep their spelling: the material
ledger's "Cancelled" hold status and GitHub's "cancelled" job status.

No behavior change beyond the spelling of a few status messages.

ajandClaude Fable 5.1 e5dc67346d feat(cutouts): pack a cutout with the frontier packer
CutoutPackerProposal runs the Irregular engine's FrontierPacker on one
hole, frame-local, with the hole as its boundary and already seated
inserts as obstacles, for all six strategy variants; every pose is
certified with NestLayoutCheck.Clears against the frame, the occupants
and the other poses, and the variant seating the most copies wins, ties
going to the tighter layout. CutoutRouter keeps that proposal over the
lattice-and-NFP one when it seats more copies, or the same number more
compactly, so the pre-pass gets it on every non-round hole.

Two copies of a bar in a frame window, which the lattice never tried and
the sampled NFP search scattered across the window (one at the inner
fit's centre), now stand together against one wall. The test rebuilds
that frame and bar from embedded G-code; the residual-accounting
pipeline tests use a hole that holds one insert so their second copy
stays an ordinary requirement.

ajandClaude Opus 5.5 4179b53c97 fix(nesting): let parts with bolt holes go into other parts' cutouts
The cutout pre-pass offered lattice/NFP inserts only when they had no
cutouts at all, so a strap with 0.25" bolt holes was never tried in a
frame's window. On N26-264 that left both PT11s loose on the sheet and
Rectangles' staggered PT10s won, although both PT11s fit one PT10's end
window. Holes matter only if another part could land in them, so a part
whose every cutout is smaller in area than the job's smallest outline is
now an ordinary insert; proxies and parts with usable holes stay out.

ajandClaude Opus 5.5 a430da89d0 feat(engine): nest round frames inside larger round frames
The cutout prepass now bundles frames smallest first, so a larger frame's
round cutout can take a ring part or an earlier bundle as one insert through
the circle packer: a flange holds a washer that holds a smaller washer that
holds a slug. Chains stop at four parts deep. Lattice and NFP proposals never
take these inserts, since they could seat a part in a ring's bore.

Expansion and released demand recurse, so placed order cuts innermost first
at every level and an unplaced outer frame returns its whole chain to demand.

ajandClaude Opus 5.5 f3a6af7f09 feat(engine): pack round inserts into round cutouts as circles
Add CutoutCirclePacker, a circle-in-circle proposal for the cutout
router. When a cutout is one circle and every insert fills at least 0.8
of its enclosing circle, it packs the inserts largest first at centers
tangent to the wall or placed discs, trying a center-out pass (a single
insert sits concentric) and a wall-first pass (optimal counts for up to
nine equal discs). Every pose passes NestLayoutCheck.

The router runs it first and skips the lattice and NFP searches when it
places all demand; otherwise the higher count wins and existing
proposals keep ties. On synthetic disc jobs the prepass drops from
minutes to seconds and places as many or more inserts.

ajandClaude Opus 5.5 bc363cc904 feat(engine): name every unplaced part and why
NestPipelineResult.Unplaced lists each requirement's unplaced copies with a
typed NestUnplacedReason, counted from the returned placements: no stock fits
at the sampled rotations, reserved in a cutout of an unplaced frame, stock
exhausted, plate limit, no position found, or proposal not keepable. Desktop
Auto Nest, Console --autonest and MCP autonest_plate/autonest_job report them;
the API returns NestResponse.Unplaced, persisted from response schema 5.

ajandClaude Opus 5.5 4a1587d6bd feat(engine): fill cutouts first in every whole-job run
NestPipeline.Run now bundles parts that fit other parts' enclosed cutouts
into their frames before the selected engine, for desktop, Console, MCP and
API alike. A valid complete bundled trial is kept; a refused trial falls back
to the ordinary solve (reason on RefusedCutoutTrial), and an incomplete trial
is compared with it, keeping whichever valid proposal places more. An
incomplete but valid trial is now keepable like any incomplete result.
Expanded sheets list each frame's inserts before the frame, so the committed
order cuts every insert before the cutout that releases its slug.

aj 0a1d021bf7 refactor(engine): rename the Default engine and fill strategy to Fill
The multi-phase lattice fill (linear, pairs, rectangle best-fit, remainder) is
no longer meant to be the engine used by default, so it gets a name for what
it does. The registry lists it as Fill and maps the old name Default to it;
PlateFillService, PlateNesterFactory and NestJobOptions use Fill, and every
fill-strategy caller still accepts Default. Console --autonest now validates
engine names through NestingEngineRegistry.ResolveName so renamed names work.

Layouts are unchanged: Default and Fill resolve to the same fillers and the
golden layouts pass under the new name.

aj 7451596047 test(cutouts): keep the repeated-call determinism test, skipped on the open Fill defect
Restore RepeatedCallsReturnIdenticalPoses for a 1 x 1 square and a 1.5 x 0.75 rectangle.
Both cases fail intermittently because Default Fill can return different, equally scored
lattices for identical calls (Project Memory opennest c98c21bd), so they are skipped with
that reason until the defect is fixed rather than removed.

aj 15cca0efd5 feat(cutouts): fill a cutout with a shifted Fill lattice
CutoutLatticeFill fills one closed cutout of a frame part with copies of one part, the
first piece of the cutouts-first pass. It runs Default Fill over the cutout's bounds
plus one part step on every side, shifts the lattice over a (2n+1)^2 grid of offsets
up to half a step each way, and at each offset keeps the copies whose reference point
lies in the part's inner-fit region of the inscribed cutout (part circumscribed and
grown by the spacing). The offset keeping the most copies wins; every returned pose
is then certified with NestLayoutCheck.Clears against the frame and the other copies.

20" ring, 10" round cutout, 1" squares, 0.25" spacing: 37 copies, against 25 for a
block sized to the inscribed rectangle and 32 for the unshifted lattice.

Not wired into any engine or pipeline: parts inside cutouts wait on containment-aware
cutting order. Fill can still return different, equally scored lattices between calls
for some parts, so identical results are not yet claimed.
