Auto Nest on MaterialLedger stock now records which inventory item each
physical sheet uses, so ML can hold exactly those items instead of matching
by size.
- Core: Plate.StockItemCodes (entry i = sheet i of Quantity; empty = uncoded).
Core invalidates it: a resize clears it (turning the sheet keeps it), a lower
Quantity truncates it, a nest material/grade/thickness change clears every
plate's, ClearAll clears it and new plates never copy it.
- Desktop Auto Nest: after a kept proposal is committed, LedgerStockAssignment
deals each ledger row's codes to its plates in Nest.Plates order (bundles
repeat their code; clamp-removal variants use their base row). Rejected,
discarded or cancelled proposals never reach it. NestPipelineCommit.PairWithStock
pairs committed plates with their solved stock; the engine stays ledger-free.
- Plate list tooltip: "Stock: CODE (location)"; locations are display-only.
- nest.json: optional plate stockItemCodes, omitted when empty, read leniently.
- /api/nests/{id}/sheets: new plates[] { index, width, length, quantity,
stockItemCodes }; sheets[] unchanged.

Roslyn duplicate scans found the same code copied across layers:
- Data: the three browse sessions share BrowseSession<TPage, TSort>;
the remote clients share NestServerHttp (JSON options, If-Match,
error text).
- WinForms: five paged lists share BrowsePager for loading text,
navigation, sort glyphs and failure messages. The Add Drawings to
Release, Drawing Library and set browser dialogs now dispose their
browse sessions.
- Server: NestQueryRequest reuses DrawingLibraryRequest's helpers;
revision history queries share count and paging binds.
- Engine: RemnantPlateNester delegates to DefaultPlateNester;
CuttingPlanService reuses JointCuttingPlanSearch.Map.
- Core: LineArc and CleanHole lead-ins share LineArcApproach with
unchanged arithmetic order, so output is bit-identical.
- IO: Dxf.GetGeometry overloads share one reader; .nest JSON test
helpers move to NestArchiveJson.
Also fixes the production compiler warnings (CS8632, CS8603, CS0108)
and moves a test off an obsolete forwarding API.

Plates with staged automatic scrap cut-offs could not be planned: P260810-01
plate 1 ran out of budget even at 10x effort, while the same plate plans
Ready in 3.6k expansions without the lines. A cut-off was one fixed program
cut whole before every part its line passes through, which dragged the tour
to the middle of the sheet and left the head at the far edge of the line;
and cutting every line first (the rejected alternative) weakens the sheet
and breaks the containment operators rely on when they fast-forward a
changed program.
A cut-off stays one definition, but Plate.RegenerateCutOffs now makes one
part per trimmed segment, each with its own place in the cut sequence.
CutOffSegments gives each segment the span of the nominal line it stands
for (end of the segment before it to start of the one after), and the
dependency rules of the planner and Part Sequencing use that span, so a
segment precedes only the parts beside it. The free-order search plans the
parts as if the segments were not there, so adding lines no longer changes
a plate's route, then CutOffInsertion slides each segment into the latest
gap before its first part where the rapid into its pierce and the rapid
from its end cross nothing cut before; only when one fits nowhere is the
plate searched with the segments among the parts. The search looks through
segments wherever they sit (entries face the next part, hole routes rank
from the pre-segment position, rapids are still checked from the segment's
end), so an applied plan replanned with the order kept replays Ready.
Segments saved out of consecutive order are recorded per segment in the
.nest file (`segments`); older readers load them consecutively.
P260810-01 plate 1 now plans Ready in 3639 expansions with every check
passing; rapid travel 1836 against 1547 without the lines. Plates without
cut-offs keep their PlanningCharacterizationTests digests, and the
problem-nest corpus has no plate below its baseline.

Model the machine's support bed as a grid of contact points measured
from the plate origin, and check each part's center of gravity against
the convex hull of the grid points under its material. The bed is
extensible so straight and CAD-imported curved slats can follow.
- Core: SupportBed/SupportGrid, SupportMaterial and SupportAnalyzer
(margin with registration tolerance, best single tab point)
- Nest-wide support bed that every plate follows, saved in
plateDefaults.supportBed; machine defaults in support-grid.json
- CuttingParameters.SupportTabs: Plan Cutting tabs only unsupported
parts and limits their perimeter entries to points where the tab
steadies the part, falling back to any fitting entry
- Desktop: Nest > Support Grid..., View > Draw Support overlay and a
"Tab parts the support grid cannot hold level" tab option
- docs/support-tabs.md, nest file format and planner notes

Center Parts centred the parts on the whole plate, ignoring edge
spacing, so a wider clamp-side margin left the parts closer to the
clamps than the opposite edge. It now centres them in Plate.WorkArea()
via the new Plate.OffsetToCenterPartsInWorkArea, so each side keeps
the same extra room beyond its edge spacing.

Operators sometimes pull a clamp for a manual layout, but only Auto Nest's
last-resort search could take clamps off a sheet. Right-clicking a clamp in
Select mode now offers to remove it from that sheet or put it back, reusing
the existing per-sheet RemovedClamps, so the zones, cut-time charge, display
and .nest persistence all behave as they do for Auto Nest removals.
The change is refused while a nest run or fill may be reading the clamps,
sharing the guard the Clamps dialog already used.

A direct CutOff.Regenerate(plate, settings) call with no perimeter
cache argument trusted Part.BoundingBox plus a sub-epsilon roundoff
allowance. A legitimately larger arc refit (ConvertProgram fitting
an imported arc's center to its chord) can protrude past that cached
box by more than the roundoff, so an uncached manual cutoff could
emit a segment crossing the part's true converted material.
Every production call site (Plate.RegenerateCutOffs,
AutomaticCutOffPlanner, the desktop cutoff tools) already builds and
passes a Plate.BuildPerimeterCache dictionary, so this only affects a
direct/uncached caller. Extract the per-part conversion out of
BuildPerimeterCache into Plate.BuildPartPerimeter and use it as a
lazy, on-the-fly fallback in CutOff.ComputeSegments whenever no cache
dictionary is supplied at all, so the uncached path gets the same
conservative envelope as the cached one instead of silently trusting
the bare bounding box. Cached behavior (including a cache's own
explicit null entries from a failed conversion) is unchanged.
OpenNest PM 13f7a685-0564-4cbf-8f46-a7805a0288a0.
Plate.RemovedClamps exposed a HashSet (and every untouched plate shared one
static empty HashSet), so a downcast could change one plate's removal state
or every plate's at once without re-resolving zones. It is now an
ImmutableHashSet.
PM 6ded8ac4-84fd-4e8b-9a3b-6f41e494542c item (e)
Plate.ClampRemovalMinutes multiplied every listed removed id by the
removal time, including ids the rail places beyond the sheet after a resize
or does not know at all. Only removed clamps the rail resolves on this sheet
are pulled, so only those add time; the ids themselves stay listed (C13).
PM 6ded8ac4-84fd-4e8b-9a3b-6f41e494542c item (a)
Slice 3b task 1 (D8/D9): ClampRail gains RemovalMinutes (D9, default
5 minutes, validated finite >= 0) and Plate gains RemovedClamps (rail
clamp ids taken off this sheet as a last resort) plus the computed
ClampRemovalMinutes. Plate.SetClampRail gains an overload that
attaches a rail with a removed-clamp set; zones become the rail's
resolution for the sheet minus those ids, re-resolved on every
resize/rotate so a removed clamp stays off and reappears removed if a
later resize brings it back onto the sheet. ClampRail.Matches gains an
overload comparing against the reduced resolution.
IO: PlateDto.RemovedClamps and ClampRailDto.RemovalMinutes persist
(missing removalMinutes falls back to the default; missing
removedClamps means none). The writer's empty-plate drop logic no
longer drops a sheet whose only content is a removal state the
defaults can't recreate. The reader re-attaches the nest rail to a
plate only when its saved zones equal the rail's resolution minus its
saved removed ids, so a reduced-clamp sheet keeps following the rail
(and the removal) through later resizes instead of freezing as static
zones.
Engine/desktop wiring (minimal-removal computation, Auto Nest
last-resort removal, cut-time, UI) is Slice 3b tasks 2-3, not yet
done.
Tests: 16 new Core (ClampRailTests) + 5 new IO (ClampRailPersistenceTests)
covering validation, resize/resolve behavior, round-trip, legacy
missing-key defaults, and the empty-plate-with-removal-only retention
case. Mutation check (reverting the RemovedClamps subtraction) turns
3 Core + 2 IO assertions red, confirming real coverage.
Gates: Release OpenNest.Tests 3884 passed/31 skipped, OpenNest.IO.Tests
105 passed, OpenNest.Engine.Tests (Clamp filter) 98 passed; scoped
dotnet format --verify-no-changes clean.
Add ClampRail: identical clamps (width along the edge, depth into the
sheet) at X centers measured from the plate origin on the origin-side
edge. It resolves onto any sheet size and quadrant without re-scaling:
clamps wholly beyond the sheet are skipped, one still reaching onto it
is clipped to it, and ids follow rail position (clamp-N) so a physical
clamp keeps its id on every sheet.
A plate can follow a rail (Plate.SetClampRail); its ClampZones are then
derived and re-resolved whenever Size or Quadrant changes, because the
clamps are fixed to the machine. Plates without a rail keep explicit
zones unchanged. Nest.PlateDefaults.ClampRail is the template new plates
follow, and Nest.SetClampRail applies a nest-wide rail to every plate
(an empty rail removes it).
Introduce ClampZone: an axis-aligned rectangular keep-out in plate
coordinates (id + detached Box), validated finite, positive-size and
identified. Plate.ClampZones is a first-class collection alongside
Parts/CutOffs with a ClampZonesChanged event for view refresh. Zones are
never parts: quantity, utilization, cut sequence and CNC output ignore
them (locked by tests); they carry no z-height reasoning.
Plate-scoped cutting plan requests now record the plate's exact state at
capture, and CuttingPlanService.Apply installs Ready, replayed proposals
for a whole scope at once:
- Any change after capture (order, pose bits, program reference or
in-place content, drawing program, lock/lead-in flags, settings,
quantity, size, quadrant or cutoff definitions) returns Stale with
nothing changed.
- Order changes without PartAdded/PartRemoved, so drawing quantities and
sentinel plates are untouched; ObservableList.Reorder exposes the same
operation and Plate.PartsReordered is raised once per changed plate.
- Regenerated parts receive owned copies of the replayed program and of
the settings captured with the request; fixed programs stay in place.
- An install failure restores every plate exactly; an observer failure
after publication is reported as a refresh error, not a rollback.
A cut-off's place in Plate.Parts is its cut sequence number, but
RegenerateCutOffs removed every cut-off part and appended it again, so
any part drag, fill or cut-off move sent the cut-offs to the end. The
nest file didn't store the position either, so reopening did the same.
RegenerateCutOffs now puts each cut-off back at its previous index (new
cut-offs go at the end), and CutOffDto.Sequence saves the index. Older
files without it load the cut-offs at the end, as before.
Every nesting-geometry consumer filtered only rapids, so scribe/etch
moves counted as part material. An etch tick that ends a hair outside
the outline (PEP bend ticks start on the notch edge) made the part
"open geometry leaving the material region": the job validator threw
and every built-in engine plus Gpt6Astra crashed on real PEP jobs
(PT75, drawing 4980 A01 PT77). Marks are only on the surface, so they
should never affect placement, collision, area, or validation.
- SpecialLayers.IsMaterial excludes Rapid and Scribe; used by drawing
area, canonical angle, part collision, PartGeometry, plate perimeter,
best-fit/pair evaluation, rotation analysis, GPU evaluators, and both
validators. Timing, display, splitting and posts still see marks.
- ConvertGeometry also maps the saved SCRIBE layer name to Scribe, so
programs rebuilt from stored entities keep their marks.
- NestReader repairs older files (e.g. PepNestExport output) whose
programs saved etch as cut moves while source entities kept SCRIBE.

Repo-wide sweep with the pinned CSharpier 1.3.0 tool. Whitespace and
line-wrapping only; OpenNest.Engine.Tests (109) and OpenNest.IO.Tests
pass after reformat, full solution builds 0 errors.
Added .csharpierignore so csproj/config XML keeps its existing layout
(CSharpier's XML wrapping churns attributes with zero benefit).
Formatting is now enforceable: dotnet csharpier check . passes.
PlateSizes holds standard mill sheet sizes (48x96 through 96x240) and
exposes Recommend() which snaps small layouts to an increment and
rounds larger layouts up to the nearest fitting sheet. Plate.SnapToStandardSize
applies the result while preserving long-axis orientation, and the
existing Ctrl+P "Resize to Fit" menu in EditNestForm now calls it
instead of the simple round-up AutoSize.

Box constructor and derived properties (Right, Top, Center, Translate, Offset)
had Width and Length swapped — Length is X axis, Width is Y axis. Corrected
across Core geometry, plate bounding box, rectangle packing, fill algorithms,
tests, and UI renderers.
Added FillSpiral with center remnant detection and recursive FillBest on
the gap between the 4 spiral quadrants. RectFill.FillBest now compares
spiral+center vs full best-fit fairly. BestCombination returns a
CombinationResult record instead of out params.

Material and thickness are properties of the nest (all plates share the
same material/gauge), not individual plates. This moves them to the Nest
class, removes them from Plate and PlateSettings, and updates the UI so
EditNestInfoForm has a material field while EditPlateForm no longer shows
thickness. The nest file format gains top-level thickness/material fields
with backward-compatible reading from PlateDefaults for old files.

Part.Intersects now filters out intersection points that coincide with
vertices of both perimeters (shared corners/endpoints), which are touch
points rather than actual crossings. Plate.HasOverlappingParts adds a
bounding box pre-filter requiring overlap region to exceed Epsilon in
both dimensions before performing expensive shape intersection checks.

The Size fix (d4222db) changed Size.Width to Y axis and Size.Length to
X axis but only updated DrawPlate/LayoutViewGL. BoundingBox, WorkArea,
rotations, DXF export, and engine code still used the old Width=X
convention, causing the fill engine to get a swapped work area (60x120
instead of 120x60) and parts to fill in the wrong direction.

Size.Parse and ToString now use WxL format (width first) matching the
natural convention. Fixed the Plate(w,l) constructor which was swapping
args when creating Size. Fixed PlateView.DrawPlate and DrawControl
ZoomToArea which had width/length mapped to the wrong screen axes.
Simplified Console --size parsing to use Size.TryParse instead of manual
split with confusing PlateHeight/PlateWidth fields. Added Command-Line
Interface section to README documenting all console options.

"Length" is more natural than "height" for flat plate materials.
Renames the field on OpenNest.Geometry.Size, Box.Height property,
and all references across 38 files.
