Circles packs every part as its minimum enclosing circle at centers tangent
to two of the work-area walls, placed discs and clamp keep-outs, bottom-left
and left-bottom, with hexagonal and square lattice seeds. It bids only when
every part fills at least 0.8 of its enclosing circle and otherwise returns
everything unplaced at once. Default runs it as a third candidate.
Rectangles' sheet-by-sheet stock loop moves to NestingEngines/SheetByStock
(Rectangles output unchanged) and Default's candidate scoring and commit
forwarding become shared helpers. Circles also runs the whole job preferring
each offered stock and keeps the best result. Contract tests take shapes an
engine can override.
Synthetic round jobs, salvage-credited: Circles wins or ties all six with
valid layouts; Default cost falls about 4% versus Irregular alone.

NestPipelineResult.Unplaced lists each requirement's unplaced copies with a
typed NestUnplacedReason, counted from the returned placements: no stock fits
at the sampled rotations, reserved in a cutout of an unplaced frame, stock
exhausted, plate limit, no position found, or proposal not keepable. Desktop
Auto Nest, Console --autonest and MCP autonest_plate/autonest_job report them;
the API returns NestResponse.Unplaced, persisted from response schema 5.

Console and Mcp each re-derived whether a name was a fill strategy, a
whole-job engine or unknown. EngineNameResolver now owns that decision,
trims consistently and accepts renamed legacy engine names; front ends
keep their own message wording.

The engine argument's description now names every built-in engine with what
it suits, so a model can choose one; omitting it still means Default. The fill
tools resolve an omitted strategy to Fill directly instead of through the
session's whole-job default. Front-end tests cover the MCP and console
defaults and keep the description in step with the registry's built-ins.
The multi-phase lattice fill (linear, pairs, rectangle best-fit, remainder) is
no longer meant to be the engine used by default, so it gets a name for what
it does. The registry lists it as Fill and maps the old name Default to it;
PlateFillService, PlateNesterFactory and NestJobOptions use Fill, and every
fill-strategy caller still accepts Default. Console --autonest now validates
engine names through NestingEngineRegistry.ResolveName so renamed names work.
Layouts are unchanged: Default and Fill resolve to the same fillers and the
golden layouts pass under the new name.
Console --engine now names a jobs engine for --autonest (solved once
through NestingEngineRegistry.Create and committed onto the plate) or a
built-in fill strategy for single-plate fill through the public
PlateFillService; unknown names exit with the valid choices instead of
consulting the process-global legacy registry. MCP nesting tools take an
explicit engine argument per call with the session default, never read
process-global active-engine state, and reject whole-job engine names on
single-plate fill tools. NestingEngineRegistry gains an explicit Create
(name) resolution; PlateFillService gains a public ResolveStrategy and a
plate-number Nest overload used by interactive callers.
Repo-wide sweep with the pinned CSharpier 1.3.0 tool. Whitespace and
line-wrapping only; OpenNest.Engine.Tests (109) and OpenNest.IO.Tests
pass after reformat, full solution builds 0 errors.
Added .csharpierignore so csproj/config XML keeps its existing layout
(CSharpier's XML wrapping churns attributes with zero benefit).
Formatting is now enforceable: dotnet csharpier check . passes.
Add toggleable pierce point drawing to PlateView that shows small red
filled circles at each rapid move endpoint (where cutting begins). Wire
through View menu, EditNestForm toggle, and MainForm handler.
Also rename RectangleShape/RoundedRectangleShape Width/Height to
Length/Width for consistency with CNC conventions, update MCP tools and
tests accordingly. Fix SplitDrawingForm designer layout ordering and
EntityView bend line selection styling.

Move fill algorithms to OpenNest.Engine.Fill namespace:
FillLinear, FillExtents, PairFiller, ShrinkFiller, Compactor,
RemnantFiller, RemnantFinder, FillScore, Pattern, PatternTiler,
PartBoundary, RotationAnalysis, AngleCandidateBuilder, and
AccumulatingProgress.
Move strategy layer to OpenNest.Engine.Strategies namespace:
IFillStrategy, FillContext, FillStrategyRegistry, FillHelpers,
and all built-in strategy implementations.
Add using directives to all consuming files across Engine, UI,
MCP, and Tests projects.

The auto-nest code paths (MainForm, MCP, Console) now call
engine.Nest(items, progress, token) instead of manually orchestrating
sequential fill+pack. The default implementation in NestEngineBase
does sequential FillExact+PackArea. StripNestEngine overrides with
its strip strategy. This makes the engine dropdown actually work.
Also consolidates ComputeRemainderWithin into NestEngineBase,
removing duplicates from MainForm and StripNestEngine.

Runs strip and sequential strategies in competition, picks the
denser result. Reports scores for both strategies in output.

ComputeRemainderStrip used the bounding box of ALL plate parts against
the full plate, missing large interior gaps between drawing groups.
Now computes remainder within the current work area based on only the
parts that were just placed. This lets subsequent drawings fill the
gap between previous drawing groups instead of being forced into a
tiny strip at the plate edge.

Move NFP-based AutoNest logic (polygon extraction, rotation computation,
simulated annealing) into dedicated AutoNester class. Consolidate duplicate
FillWithPairs overloads, extract BuildCandidateAngles and BuildProgressSummary,
reorganize NestEngine into logical sections. Update callers in Console,
MCP tools, and MainForm to use AutoNester.Nest.

Brings in the full NFP implementation: ConvexDecomposition, NoFitPolygon,
InnerFitPolygon, NfpCache, BottomLeftFill, SimulatedAnnealing optimizer,
and INestOptimizer interface. Resolves conflicts by keeping master's
progress reporting infrastructure alongside the new AutoNest methods,
and adapting RunAutoNest_Click to use NFP AutoNest with async/cancellation.

"Length" is more natural than "height" for flat plate materials.
Renames the field on OpenNest.Geometry.Size, Box.Height property,
and all references across 38 files.

Implement geometry-aware nesting using No-Fit Polygons and simulated
annealing optimization. Parts interlock based on true shape rather than
bounding boxes, producing tighter layouts for mixed-part scenarios.
New types in Core/Geometry:
- ConvexDecomposition: ear-clipping triangulation for concave polygons
- NoFitPolygon: Minkowski sum via convex decomposition + Clipper2 union
- InnerFitPolygon: feasible region computation for plate placement
New types in Engine:
- NfpCache: caches NFPs keyed by (drawingId, rotation) pairs
- BottomLeftFill: places parts using feasible regions from IFP - NFP union
- INestOptimizer: abstraction for future GA/parallel upgrades
- SimulatedAnnealing: optimizes part ordering and rotation
Integration:
- NestEngine.AutoNest(): new public entry point for mixed-part nesting
- MainForm.RunAutoNest_Click: uses AutoNest instead of Pack
- NestingTools.autonest_plate: new MCP tool for Claude Code integration
- Drawing.Id: auto-incrementing identifier for NFP cache keys
- Clipper2 NuGet added to OpenNest.Core for polygon boolean operations
