aj 5b88d85937 fix(engine): isolate job identity and engine selection
Replace name-based quantity deduction with reference-based drawing
identity in the engine paths the whole-job runner reaches
(NestEngineBase fill/pack, StripNestEngine deduction, RemnantFiller
ledger, IterativeShrinkFiller leftovers). Add instance-scoped
PlateNesterFactory that resolves built-in strategies without touching
the global NestEngineRegistry. Add identity and engine-selection tests.

44 net8.0 tests pass in Debug and Release; no new warnings.

aj 6a0fba0fec Add OpenNest.Benchmark: generic head-to-head engine comparison harness
Loads any .nest file (or folder of them) via NestReader and nests every
drawing with quantity > 0 using each registered NestEngineBase, so it
works sight-unseen against arbitrary real jobs without any hardcoded
geometry. Optionally sweeps a fixed --sheet-sizes list instead of each
file's own plate size.

- BenchmarkJob/JobLoader build immutable job specs; a fresh Plate and
NestItem list is created per (job, engine) run so state never leaks
  between engines or jobs.
- NestValidator rejects a layout if any part falls outside the work
area, any two parts are closer than PartSpacing (checked via each
part's own world-space polygon inflated by the spacing, so it holds
for arbitrary concave/holed geometry, not just bounding boxes), or a
drawing gets more parts than requested.
- Scoring matches Plate.Utilization() (placed area / full sheet area);
ties among fully-placed layouts break on the smaller used bounding
  box (more usable remnant).
- Report prints a per-job ranked breakdown plus a per-engine summary
(wins, avg utilization, time), and can write a flat CSV.

Verified end-to-end against a synthetic .nest file (not committed)
against the four built-in engines; caught a genuine out-of-work-area
bug in StripNestEngine in the process.

ajandClaude Opus 4.6 c386e462b2 docs(readme): add CAD converter section with screenshots
Add a CAD Converter workflow section and inline thumbnail screenshots.
Rearrange existing screenshots as side-by-side thumbnails with
click-to-enlarge links.

ajandClaude Opus 4.6 3e96c62f33 docs(readme): reformat features as tables and document cutout-aware splitter
Feature list becomes grouped tables (Import/Export, Nesting, Plate
Operations, CNC Output). Nest file format section expands to cover the
newer entities/programs/subs layout. Drawing Splitting section gains a
paragraph explaining cutout-aware clipping: Liang-Barsky line clipping,
arc-vs-region intersection, and connected-component detection that emits
one drawing per physically-disconnected strip.

ajandClaude Opus 4.6 356b989424 feat: mirror axis simplifier, bend note propagation, ellipse fixes
Geometry Simplifier:
- Replace least-squares circle fitting with mirror axis algorithm
that constrains center to perpendicular bisector of chord, guaranteeing
  zero-gap endpoint connectivity by construction
- Golden section search optimizes center position along the axis
- Increase default tolerance from 0.005 to 0.5 for practical CNC use
- Support existing arcs in simplification runs (sample arc points to
find larger replacement arcs spanning lines + arcs together)
- Add tolerance zone visualization (offset original geometry ±tolerance)
- Show original geometry overlay with orange dashed lines in preview
- Add "Original" checkbox to CadConverter for comparing old vs new
- Store OriginalEntities on FileListItem to prevent tolerance creep
when re-running simplifier with different settings

Bend Detection:
- Propagate bend notes to collinear bend lines split by cutouts
  using infinite-line perpendicular distance check
- Add bend note text rendering in EntityView at bend line midpoints

DXF Import:
- Fix trimmed ellipse closing chord: only close when sweep ≈ 2π,
preventing phantom lines through slot cutouts

ajandClaude Opus 4.6 0cba528591 docs: update README with accurate features and add roadmap
Remove NFP pair fitting claim from features (not yet integrated).
Qualify lead-in/lead-out as engine-only (UI coming soon).
Mark --autonest CLI option as experimental. Add Roadmap section
with planned work: NFP nesting, lead-in UI, sheet cut-offs,
post-processors, and shape library UI.

Add documentation maintenance instruction to CLAUDE.md requiring
README.md and CLAUDE.md updates when project structure changes.

ajandClaude Opus 4.6 d4222db0e8 fix: correct Size width/length ordering and add CLI docs to README
Size.Parse and ToString now use WxL format (width first) matching the
natural convention. Fixed the Plate(w,l) constructor which was swapping
args when creating Size. Fixed PlateView.DrawPlate and DrawControl
ZoomToArea which had width/length mapped to the wrong screen axes.

Simplified Console --size parsing to use Size.TryParse instead of manual
split with confusing PlateHeight/PlateWidth fields. Added Command-Line
Interface section to README documenting all console options.

ajandClaude Opus 4.6 224fbde19a feat: add polylabel algorithm for part label positioning and README
Use pole-of-inaccessibility (polylabel) to place part labels at the
visual center of shapes instead of the first path vertex. Labels now
stay correctly positioned regardless of part rotation or shape.

Also adds project README and MIT license.
