The posts treat every non-lead feed move as a cut, so an applied blank's
display tail, or the outline of a blank posted without a plan, would have
been cut along the blank's edge. The pre-post review counted that outline
as an ordinary cutting contour.
Cincinnati, CI Fiber and the engraver now read part programs through
DisplayPerimeterTail.ForPosting: an applied program posts exactly what the
same program posts with its tail removed by hand, and an unplanned display
perimeter is refused with a message that names the part and points to Plan
Cutting. The pre-post review reports the unplanned outline by name.
Plan Cutting is now the only automatic lead-in assignment, and parts the
support grid cannot hold level are reported wherever they lack a
steadying tab.
- Remove Assign Lead-ins (plate and nest), LeadInAssigner, the lead-in
tool's Auto-Assign button and the Auto Tab size range; old settings
with autoTab sizes still load
- Manual Place Lead-in tabs the clicked entry when support tabs are on
and the grid cannot hold the part (SupportTabSettings)
- New PartSupport finding: Plan Cutting replay and best-effort plans
warn when a drawing pin, a lead-in that does not fit or no single tab
leaves a part unsteady; the pre-post review checks each placed
program's outside tab gap. These warnings replace the advisory
weak-tab notes; only the inside-corner tab note stays advisory, and
never for a pin
- Pinned perimeters keep their pin but carry the support analysis
- Draw grid points as pixel-snapped squares without anti-aliasing
- Post fixtures build lead-ins through a test-only TestLeadIns helper
- Docs: support tabs, pre-post verification and planner notes

Validate Nest, the posting review and console --post now report a
"Part spacing" finding for pairs of parts that do not overlap but sit
closer than the plate's part spacing. Before, only Auto Nest's
Keep/Discard review checked spacing, so hand-edited layouts could be
validated and posted with parts too close together.
Candidates are found with Auto Nest's own outline test, moved into Core
as SpacingOutline (NestLayoutCheck and NestTolerances now use it; Engine
tests unchanged). Because that outline circumscribes arcs by more than
the spacing slack, each candidate is confirmed on native contours
flattened 20x finer than the slack, so arcs placed exactly at the
spacing by interactive fills stay clear. The finding reports the
measured gap and marks the middle of the closest approach. Overlapping
pairs, cut-offs, zero spacing, the plate edge and clamps are not
reported as spacing findings.

Thick plate pierces leave a crater wider than the kerf. CuttingParameters.PierceDiameter
(Cutting Settings > Pierce Diameter, 0 = off) requires every lead-in pierce to keep half
of it from all part material: its own contour, its holes and every other part.
- LeadPathValidator checks the zone during Plan Cutting candidate checks and final
replay; fixed emissions warn as usual. No-fit findings explain the zone.
- PierceZoneReview reports Pierce zone warnings before posting for leads from any source.
- Holes whose configured pierce is inside the zone move it toward the hole's PolyLabel
pole (round holes: the centre), as close to the contour as the zone allows; a hole
too small for the zone is pierced at its pole and the shortfall is still reported.
- Straight corner leads and round-hole clamping use the larger of PierceClearance and
the zone radius. The manual lead-in preview shares the Core rules.
- Persisted through the DTO, owned copies and state fingerprint.
Perimeter fallback is not included; see docs/geometry/pierce-zone.md.

A cutout cut in several pieces around tabs, as PEP programs often are, made
pre-post review report every piece's lead-out and the part's open fragments
as incomplete. Review now proves such open cuts release nothing: within the
part they touch other cuts only at their own ends and form no loop (each
closed contour with its leads counting as one point), and leads at open ends
stay out of the gap beyond them. Anything else stays incomplete. Plan Cutting
keeps refusing to certify its own tabs followed by a lead-out.

Posting review now proves containment exactly as the cutting planner does
(shared NestedPartContainment) and warns when a nested part is cut after its
host (NestedCutOrder) or when a host's hole lead or the nested part's lead
meets the other's material (NestedLead), including subprogram hole poses.
Ambiguous containment is incomplete, never clear; fixed-lead motions are not
reported twice. A committed cutout preview warns until Plan Cutting cuts the
insert first.

Assign Lead-ins (LeadInAssigner) now leaves every unlocked part with active
drawing pins unchanged and returns those parts, so it never overwrites a pin
with the plate's settings; the desktop names them ("N parts kept their
drawing lead-ins (plate P: parts ...); use Plan Cutting to apply their
drawing pins."). Parts without pins, with pins switched off, or locked are
assigned or skipped exactly as before.
The pre-post review now covers drawing pins. A part with active pins whose
placed program does not cut each pinned contour exactly as the pin's own
emission (re-emitted with the part's cutting settings and matched motion for
motion) warns "Drawing pins not applied", as do locked lead-ins overriding
pins and a pin that no longer matches the geometry; pins switched off are
not reported. The contours that are cut as pinned join locked programs in
the fixed-lead re-check against every part's clean material, and fixed
leads are now also checked against active clamps (Plan Cutting itself does
not model clamps).
AGENTS.md records the fixed-emission safeguard and the characterization
digests.

D1a (user, 2026-10-14): one locked cutout must not refuse the whole layout.
With confirmed parameters a locked program is now a fixed emission, accepted
as given. The replay checker and the lead validator take a per-motion owner:
a violation inside the fixed emission (a lead meeting another part's or its
own material, a rapid inside the locked program crossing a cut contour, an
uncertifiable tab gap or a partial/reversed/retraced cut) is recorded apart
instead of failing the candidate. The search never rejects or learns an order
rule from them, so fixed emissions never steer it; the planner's rapid into
the locked program and every regenerated lead keep every strict check.
Replay turns those violations into typed FixedLead findings that name the
part, contour and the part hit. A plate whose only findings are these is
BestEffort with IndependentlyReplayed set: never Ready, applicable only with
the per-proposal acceptance, and CuttingPlanService.Apply still rejects it.
Overlap, unreadable programs, stale input and cancellation still block, and
unlocked programs a caller left ineligible and the no-parameter route keep
refusing as before.
Pre-post review now re-checks locked leads against every part's clean
material, so the same violations reappear before posting.
Existing tests that encoded the old locked refusal now assert the warning;
two batch tests that used a locked crossing as their hard block use an
overlap instead. The 5.1 digests are unchanged.

The overlap crosshair sat on the pair's area centroid. For a split,
holed or concave overlap, that point can be off the red material:
between two patches, in a hole, or inside a curve.
PlateOverlapPair.Marker is a point inside the pair's largest island.
It is the island's pole of inaccessibility (PolyLabel), searched to a
tenth of the island's area/perimeter within a 4096-cell budget. If
that bounded search does not land inside (a long thin sliver), the
marker falls back to the midpoint of the widest interior run of a
horizontal scan line placed between vertex heights.
The overlay crosshair, marker hit testing, hover coordinates
("Marker:") and the cutting-inspection ring now use the marker.
Centroid stays the true area centroid. View > Overlap Check > Display
> Centroids is now labelled Markers.
Before the marker existed, its call sites used the centroid. Two
patches, a covered frame, a half annulus and a thin crescent then put
it off the material; now all four land on it. Disabling the scan-line
fallback fails its test. On the 389-plate corpus, markers add about
0.4 ms per overlapping pair; pair and area results are unchanged.
Pre-post clamp checks looked only at nominal cut-off definitions and
rapids. A definition moved without regenerating its placed program
left a cut through an active clamp that posted with no warning, because
cut-off material is excluded from the overlap check.
Also check each cut-off part's placed cutting motions against the
clamps in the placement frame (lines exactly, arcs by their extent).
Report one warning per cut-off part and clamp, so a current definition
does not produce a duplicate of its nominal finding.

Plate.ClampZones are stored relative to the sheet's lower-left corner,
but cut-off positions, motions and part poses use the signed quadrant
frame. The automatic cutoff planner, manual cut-off contacts, clamp
rapid warnings and whole-plate overlap capture compared the two
directly, so in quadrants 2-4 a cut or rapid through a real rail clamp
was neither avoided nor warned about.
Add ClampZoneFrame.ToPlacement, which maps live zones into the
placement frame exactly like the sheet and engine stock, and use it in
every Slice 5 consumer. It rejects missing or malformed zones (bounds
stay publicly mutable); pre-post verification reports those as an
incomplete clamp check instead of a clear result. Overlap freshness now
treats a size or quadrant change as moving the zones.
Tests use real ClampRail zones in all quadrants; the hand-signed
quadrant fixtures that hid the defect are converted to rails.
